The Centene Community Ice Center is a state-of-the-art 277,000 square foot, four-sheet community ice rink completed in 2019. Located in Maryland Heights, Missouri, the ice center is a product of a public-private partnership between the non-profit St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation and the City of Maryland Heights.
With a total project cost of $84 million, operators anticipate over 1.1 million visitors annually. The development features four NHL size ice sheets, including a covered outdoor rink designed as a multi-purpose venue for concerts, festivals, and other events. This outdoor venue, known as Saint Louis Music Park, is the area’s only covered, outdoor ice rink which will be convertible during the spring and summer months into a 4,500-seat, state-of-the-art music amphitheater, to be operated by Live Nation.
The primary tenants and major capital partners of the ice center include the St. Louis Blues, the St. Louis Blues Alumni, Lindenwood University, the St. Louis Blues AAA program, and the St. Louis Lady Cyclones. In addition to on-ice activity that extends beyond hockey, the facility offers sports medicine, therapy, training and other ancillary medical services through Mercy Rehabilitation in partnership with EXOS Training. Other tenants include a Pure Hockey retail store and Elite Hockey Training Facility. The facility also features many food and beverage options including 314 Social, Schnucks Grab N Go, as well as general concessions.
