Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner
John S. Ross is CEO of Summit Real Estate Group. He began his career in commercial real estate in 1985 and founded Summit in 1995. As CEO of Summit, Mr. Ross manages strategy, growth capital and investor relations.
Since its inception, Summit has developed or acquired over 4.5 million square feet of properties valued in excess of $430 million. In 2009, Mr. Ross expanded Summit’s business to include a Fund operations and has since raised two Funds in excess of $110 million.
In 2005, Mr. Ross formed Cushman & Wakefield | Gateway Commercial as a result of acquiring the St. Louis Cushman & Wakefield branch office. Gateway is a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Partner and has the resources and global reach of the largest privately held real estate services company in the world. He maintains an advisory board position locally. Additionally, Mr. Ross serves on the Board of Directors of Parkside Bank & Trust which he helped found.
Prior to Summit, Mr. Ross was Vice President at Nooney Krombach Company, a leading St. Louis based commercial real estate brokerage firm. During his nine years at Nooney Krombach he was involved in some of St. Louis’s largest brokerage transactions including representing Enterprise Rent a Car in their acquisition of their World Headquarters, IMCERA (now known as Mallincrodt) in the relocation of their World Headquarters from Chicago to St. Louis, Hardee’s Restaurant in the relocation of their Corporate Headquarters from Los Angeles to St. Louis.
His philanthropic focus has been on children with a focus on education. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of Churchill Center & School for an eight year period during which he was Chairman from 2007-2010. During his tenure, Mr. Ross oversaw the development of the new 45,000 square foot school. Additionally, he has served on the Board of the Magic House where he oversaw the $10 Million expansion.
Mr. Ross received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
